The Future of the Midland
The Midland Theater is currently in the midst of a multi-phase capital campaign to fully restore and reopen the historic theater. While the auditorium is under construction and not available for use at this time, we’re proud to have completed three of the four major restoration phases: the exterior façade, the front of the house, and the backstage area. The final phase—restoring the auditorium—is now the focus of our fundraising efforts.
During the front of the house construction, we planned with the future in mind. Two ADA-accessible restrooms were added on the first floor to ensure that guests can comfortably enjoy events in the lobby and concession area. However, due to current funding and structural limitations, the second floor—home to the ballroom, mezzanine area, and additional restrooms—remains accessible only by stairs and does not currently meet ADA standards. We recognize the importance of full accessibility throughout the building and are committed to addressing these needs in future restoration plans and fundraising campaigns.
We appreciate your support and understanding as we work toward reopening the entire Midland Theater and making it a welcoming space for all.
